Who am I and what do I set out to Accomplish?

Hey there! My name is Nathan De Silva, and I am the president, author, and creator of Money Nate. My story is one driven purely by a strong passion and conviction for financial education. I’m just an ordinary guy who realized that most of us are capable of extraordinary things if we passionately choose to raise the bar, change our habits, and adopt a fervent level of discipline.

Although I’ve had a fascination with money and saving since being a kid with a small allowance, like many of us, I graduated from college not much closer to knowing what I wanted to do and with thousands of dollars in student loan debt. I quickly worked my way through a career in financial services while immersing myself in reading many business and personal finance books on banking, leadership, entrepreneurship, debt management, budgeting, compound interest and investing, insurance, real estate, you name it. As I utilized this knowledge to scrimp, save, and invest, I began to understand how I could combine my strengths effectively and in a way that could add tremendous value to others.

 During my 15+ year tenure in financial services and management, I served as a home finance expert and mortgage consultant, helping homebuyers throughout the country in not only achieving the American Dream, but doing so with some of the best financing options on the market. With the goal of providing relevant, money saving education on the topic of real estate finance, in 2014 I applied this expertise to co-contribute to the book Right House…Right Price, a homebuyer’s guide written by my father. In addition, I completed my MBA in Finance that same year by taking advantage of excellent company benefits.

Since I realized that corporate success alone rarely made one “rich”, I spent much of my time diving further into investing, trading, and market psychology. It’s in that moment that the lightbulb went off – there were cyclical patterns in the markets that repeat themselves time and again, and by applying certain techniques, I began to see my wealth transform.

Through a strong work ethic, a mentality of continuous education, and execution of certain principles and strategies, I’m on a path that has begun to see my wildest dreams come true. To live life on my terms, make money off my money through passive investing, travel the world, and the most rewarding step- sharing what I’ve learned and impacting the financial lives of this generation. That is what gets me out of bed every morning, what drives me more and more each day, and what I set out to accomplish. There is power in being financially free. I want to help you obtain that power.

I believe I wouldn’t be doing my part if I wasn’t here making a push to educate (and liberate) our next generation. If you’ll take this journey with me, I’m confident we’ll make a difference, and impact this world by increasing financial IQ’s one person at a time.
